As an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, I never imagined that one day I would find myself in the tech space, creating innovations that seek to enhance democracy for our people, for Africans, and for the world.
Being part of the Code for Democracy Program 2025 by Nuru Trust has made me reflect deeply on the power of my voice as a young person. I have realized that I am not too small to make change, big change.
The program has inspired my colleagues and me to draw strength and ideas both from within and beyond our borders. We’ve looked at how countries like Rwanda rebuilt the fabric of their society through community feedback using the Ubudehe system, and how Liberia courageously leveraged technology to fight the Ebola crisis.
Here in Kenya, Nuru Trust is challenging us to innovate, to think differently, and to provide homegrown solutions for our communities.
I am deeply grateful to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
To the youth, if not us, then who?
